Valerio’s story begins in 1964, with four brothers making mozzarella, ricotta and Italian sausages beneath their delicatessen in Islington.
1964
The cellar in Islington
The brothers began with hands-on production for London’s Italian community. Their recipes and daily rhythm formed the foundation of Valerio’s.
1970
A factory in Bedford
As demand grew, the family built a purpose-designed production site at Olympia House on Manton Lane. Bedford remains the home of Valerio’s production today.
Today
Part of the C. Carnevale Group
Valerio’s is the manufacturing name; Carnevale provides the broader distribution network. Together they connect Bedford-made products with food businesses across the UK.
